A blogger I’ve recently begun visiting, who is an Etsy artist I really love, has invited other bloggers to make a list of revealing things. I’ve never done one of these list posts, and have decided, in the spirit of holiday shopping, to be all indulgent and give it a try.

So here it is:

1. When I was little, I stole money from my mother’s wallet almost weekly for months. I’m not sure why I did it, but it stopped when I got a little too ballsy and bought myself a knock off Barbie doll. Which was harder to hide and eat than a pack of Now-n-Laters.

2. I tend to be more productive with the T.V. running in the background. It almost doesn’t matter what’s on, so long as it’s a sitcom of some sort or a movie. Not having any access to any channels has been creatively crippling for me these weeks that I’ve been home.

3. My favorite smell is the odor of a candle or match having just been snuffed out. I also love the smell of Sophie’s hair, which kicks sulfur-smoke smell’s ass any day. Unless we’re talking three day dirty hair. Which doesn’t smell good on anyone.

4. My middle name is Israel. And I have always hated it.

5. Hot cocoa on a cold, rainy, snowy day is a romantic ideal of mine, but I don’t really like cocoa.

6. Even though it’s a vehicle for productivity, as listed in item 2, and even though I know I will feel awful for doing it, I will just sit on the couch and watch T.V., of any kind, all day if you let me.

7. I’m happier and healthier than I’ve ever been, but I can’t help wishing that I was seven pounds thinner and had a lot more money.

8. I have an irrational discomfort with making lists about myself.
